Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
What is Neuro Emotional Technique?
When our body fails to 'let go' of stress responses, such as fear, anger, grief or many other emotions, we can find ourselves with unexplained aversions, self-sabotaging behaviors, destructive beliefs, phobias and many chronic physical problems.
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) can help to identify, and help you let go of, 'stuck' mind-body stress patterns.
How it works
Muscle Testing (Applied Kinesiology)
Muscle testing is a core tool used in NET to access information about stress stored in the body.
How it works:
-
A gentle pressure is applied to a muscle (often the arm) while you focus on a specific thought, memory, or issue.
Meridian Therapy - based on Chinese Medicine Theory
NET integrates the energetic meridian system used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to identify and release emotional blocks.
How it works:
-
TCM teaches that each organ system is linked to specific emotions (e.g., the liver is associated with anger, the lungs with grief).
-
NET uses this map to identify which meridian—and therefore which stressful theme—may be contributing to a health issue.
Why it matters:
Unresolved stress often “store” in specific organ systems. By activating or addressing the relevant meridian points, we help restore qi or energy flow and reduce the stressful burden.
Mind-Body Connection
NET is grounded in the science of psychoneuroimmunology — the study of how stressors affect our nervous, immune, and endocrine systems.
How it works:
-
When a stressful or traumatic event occurs and isn't fully processed, the emotional memory can get stored as potential energy in the body.
-
NET helps your body recognise and safely release these stored stress responses.
Why it matters:
The brain and body are in constant communication. Stress can manifest as chronic pain, fatigue, or recurring physical issues.
The Correction
NET doesn’t involve traditional talk therapy, but it does help shift how your brain interprets past emotional experiences.
-
a gentle instrument adjustment is made to the spine using a gentle low force chiropractic instrument called an activator while the patient breathes in and out and holds certain points on the body from the Chinese Medicine meridian map.
-
Alternatively, pulse points are used for the correction
-
This process is often combined with specific physical contact points (like meridian holding points) to “reset” the stress response.
Why it matters:
By changing how your nervous system responds to past stressors, NET helps rewire your reactions—so you’re no longer stuck in old patterns. It’s a subtle but powerful shift.
Meet your Practitioner
I had the vision for Fairfield Wellness two decades ago when I was training to become a yoga teacher and soon after commenced 5 years of study in the field of Chiropractic completing my training with a Masters of Clinical Chiropractic. I use a range of gentle manual techniques and low force instrument/ activator adjustments to help people to decrease pain and improve range of motion and optimise function. I have completed my Masters of Acupuncture from RMIT University. I am a certified practitioner of the International College of Applied Kinesiology (AK) which uses craniosacral and meridian therapy, adjustments of the spine, muscle testing and nutrition. I take Chiropractic, NET & Acupuncture appointments Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday morning and Saturday morning. |
